Fell Cottage is a semi-detached cottage located in a small, peaceful hamlet near Coniston. It provides a comfortable and relaxing base for exploring the Lake District while offering the charm and tranquillity of a rural setting.

How many guests can Fell Cottage accommodate?

Fell Cottage comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests, making it ideal for family holidays, walking groups and getaways with friends.

What sleeping arrangements are available at Fell Cottage?

Fell Cottage sleeps up to 8 guests across four bedrooms. There are two king-size bedrooms, one small double bedroom, and one twin bedroom. The twin bedroom can be converted into a king-size bed on request, provided we receive at least 24 hours' notice before arrival.

Do the bedrooms at Fell Cottage have en-suite bathrooms?

No. Fell Cottage does not have any en-suite bedrooms. There are three bathrooms available for guests: two bathrooms upstairs, one with a bath and one with a shower, and a third bathroom downstairs with a shower.

Are all bedrooms at Fell Cottage on one level?

No. All bedrooms are located upstairs, so guests should be comfortable using stairs during their stay.

Is Fell Cottage suitable for families?

Yes. Fell Cottage offers comfortable accommodation for families and is perfectly located for exploring the Lake District's attractions, outdoor activities and beautiful scenery. A great selection of games and jigsaws is also available, providing entertainment for relaxing evenings and quieter days at the cottage.

Yes. Fell Cottage has full fibre broadband, providing a very reliable connection for guests to use during their stay.

Does Fell Cottage have tea and coffee-making facilities?

Yes. Fell Cottage has a Nespresso coffee machine. A selection of coffee pods, tea bags and sugar are provided for your arrival, so you can enjoy a hot drink as soon as you arrive.

What kitchen facilities does Fell Cottage have?

Fell Cottage has a well-equipped kitchen featuring an AGA and a conventional oven, providing plenty of flexibility for cooking during your stay. The kitchen also includes two under-counter fridges, a small freezer compartment within one fridge, and a wine fridge for keeping drinks chilled.

Are towels and bed linen provided?

Yes. Freshly laundered bed linen and bath towels are provided for all guests. Bath towels are provided for use within Fell Cottage; please bring your own towels for swimming or playing by the lake.

Does Fell Cottage have private parking?

Yes. Fell Cottage has private off-road parking for up to two medium to large cars.

Does the cottage have a log burner?

Yes. The cosy log burner creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere, making Fell Cottage the perfect place to relax after a day exploring the Lake District. A basket of logs, kindling and firelighters are provided from October to April.

Does Fell Cottage have a hot tub?

No. Fell Cottage does not have a hot tub. Instead, it offers comfortable accommodation in a peaceful setting, providing the perfect place to unwind after enjoying the surrounding fells and lakes.

Does Fell Cottage have an enclosed garden?

Yes. Fell Cottage has a small enclosed rear garden with a patio, providing a pleasant outdoor space for relaxing, dining or enjoying the fresh Lake District air. A patio table and chairs are provided so guests can make the most of the outdoor space.

Does Fell Cottage have outdoor cooking facilities?

Yes. Fell Cottage has a BBQ and fire pit, providing the perfect setting for outdoor dining and relaxing during your stay.

Dogs

Dog friendly stays

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Fell Cottage, with local space for exercise and plenty of walks nearby.

Is Fell Cottage dog friendly?

Yes. Fell Cottage welcomes up to three well-behaved dogs, and dogs are welcome throughout the cottage. If you would like to bring more than three dogs, please contact us before booking and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

Is there anywhere for dogs to exercise nearby?

Yes. Guests staying at Fell Cottage have access to a dog field with agility equipment when available, providing a safe space for dogs to enjoy some off-lead exercise and play.

Are dogs allowed on the sofas and beds?

Dogs are welcome throughout Fell Cottage, but we kindly ask that they do not go on the sofas or beds. This helps us keep the cottage comfortable and welcoming for all guests.

Is there an additional charge for bringing dogs?

No. There is no extra charge for dogs staying at Fell Cottage.

From the front door

Fell Cottage is well placed for walks, Coniston Water, local pubs, village shops, and wider Lake District days out.

Are there walks directly from Fell Cottage?

Yes. A public footpath runs straight past the front door of Fell Cottage, providing direct access to walks up the Old Man of Coniston or down towards the shores of Coniston Water. You can explore some of the Lake District's most beautiful scenery straight from the cottage.

Is Fell Cottage a good base for walking holidays?

Absolutely. With direct access to footpaths, nearby fell walks, Coniston Water and some of the Lake District's most spectacular scenery, Fell Cottage is an ideal base for walking holidays throughout the year.

Are there pubs within walking distance of Fell Cottage?

Yes. The local pubs are open year round. The Wilson Arms in Torver is around a 15-minute walk along the old railway track and is a popular choice for food and drinks. The Ship is approximately a 5-minute drive or around a 30-minute walk from Fell Cottage.

Are there shops nearby?

Yes. There are three convenience stores in Coniston Village, just a short drive away, where you can pick up groceries and everyday essentials during your stay.

Do I need a car during my stay?

We recommend bringing a car to make the most of your stay at Fell Cottage and to explore the wider Lake District. While there are wonderful walks directly from the cottage and local pubs within walking distance, a car provides easy access to nearby villages, attractions, lakes and scenic drives throughout the National Park.

Is smoking allowed at Fell Cottage?

No. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside Fell Cottage or within the property grounds. We ask all guests to respect this policy to help keep the cottage fresh and comfortable for everyone.

When is payment due?

A deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance payable before your arrival.

Is a security deposit required?

Yes. A refundable £200 security deposit is required with the balance payment. This will be returned after your stay, subject to the property being left in good condition and in accordance with the booking terms.

What is your cancellation policy?
